Tourist activities to discover in the summer around
Résidence Vacances Murol
The Murol Self Catering Resort (Massif Central) inspires you to discover countless tourist activities in the Massif du Sancy and the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Nature Park. Murol Castle, perched on a rocky outcrop, is the number one unmissable destination in terms of Auvergne heritage sites. There are plenty of things to see in the surrounding area, which will immerse you in medieval history. You can also discover the local culinary heritage, by learning the secrets of how Saint-Nectaire cheese is made. Did you know you can enjoy this cheese with... blueberry or apricot jam, to bring out the flavour? The jam maker in the beautiful village of Saint-Nectaire, where you can discover unexpected and subtle pairings of flavours, is a must-visit. Enjoy a stroll around this unique village while you’re here and visit the Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Cornadore church, one of the Auvergne's romanesque treasures. Anyone who loves crafts or unusual geological discoveries will fall under the spell of the unique Fontaines Pétrifiantes (Petrifying Fountains), where you can visit the cave, spring, fountains and the moulding workshops which make the stunning bas-reliefs.
The Massif du Sancy and the Massif Central abound with tourist activities. The Jonas troglodytic dwellings and the White Rock are great examples, not forgetting the European Volcanism Park, the Murols School of Painters Museum, the majestic Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Cornadore church in Saint-Nectaire, the medieval city of Besse-et-Saint-Anastaise and Lac Pavin.
